audio visual

Come on by next Friday, July 23, 7-10PM, for our latest show called Audio Visual, featuring a collection of works honoring one of art and artists' most beloved companions, music. Eight of our usual partners in crime are participating in the show, and it's going to be a fun one.

We'll also be having our usual Street Food Fridays so get ready to feast, not just your eyes, but your mouth as well on the culinary artistry of Soul Cocina, Toasty Melts, Pearl's Kitchen, and Sweet Constructions. We hope to see you!

Andy Stattmiller brought by two more small pieces for us to feast our eyes upon -- one of them literally. The juicy rendering of the gyro machine (top) is also an homage to a famous painting housed in -- what else?! -- a taqueria, El Farolito in the Mission District SF. Measuring 7in. x 5in., it can be yours for only US$ 80.

The fun little thundercloud (botom image) measures 4in. x 6in. and is priced at US$ 60. Both are painted with acrylic. Email us for more info.

andy stattmiller, starving artist

We're not sure if Andy Stattmiller is really starving but he sures seems it with these little paintings of big food. And he makes us pretty hungry, too!

Done in acrylic on canvas, "Hotcake Heaven" and "Bierre Break" are each 8in. x 8in. and US$125 while "Downtown Pastrami Town" is 6in. x 4in. and US$65. The best thing is that you can indulge in these culinary delights and not gain any weight.

The opening will take place at both shops -- Neon Monster on 22nd/Castro from 3-7PM and fabric8 from 5-9PM -- so you can hop between spots to see the entire collection. More info to come.

Also the following Saturday afternoon, August 23, fabric8 will be hosting Live Painting with Sirron Norris and Ursula Young so mark your calendars for two weeks of artistic fun!

Andy Stattmiller goes big -- literally and figuratively -- with this delicious masterpiece depicting the biggest sundae ever and lots of outdoor fun around and atop it. An acrylic on canvas painting priced at only US$ 800, it measures a massive 24in. x 36 in. It is huge!

new andy stattmiller pieces

Painter/illustrator Andy Stattmiller dropped off these yummy little pieces of art to snack on. True classics, the pretzel and cupcake have been a staple of the munchie universe for several generations so it's only right they be immortalized on canvas.

These acrylic paintings are 6in. x 4in. and 4in. square; and cost only US$ 65 and US$ 50, which is what we may soon be paying for the edible version. Might as well have a picture, then -- it'll last longer.
