If you're in the Washington DC area on July 25, Heavy Hitterz Maryland is a not-to-miss event. Presented by gaNyan, Art Whino Gallery, and fabric8, this third annual showcase of emerging artists will feature 60+ international painters and illustrators from around the globe including lots of fabric8 favorites.

gaNyan keeps it coming with his Heavy Hitterz group art show, which started in San Francisco in 2007 and made its way to Manila, Philippines last year. Heavy Hitterz Maryland's opening reception is on Saturday, July 25, from 7-10 at the Art Whino Gallery. The show will be on exhibit through August 15.

transamerica building by nate1

If you're a fan of Nate1, his pixelated paintings, and San Francisco, this new little guy is right up your alley. In addition to his series on the MUNI trains and buses, he's also been doing these paintings of SF's beloved icon, the Transamerica Building. Painted with acrylic on wood, and measuring 6in. x 5.5in., it's a deal at US$ 75. Holla if you like it.

nate 1 : old school and new skool

Graffiti artist and graphic designer Nate1 has made his name in today's streetwear market as the producer of New Skool, the dope classic kiddie line and adult tees/hoodies that originated the headphones graphic.

But back in the day, Nate1 rolled with San Francisco's legendary MPC crew, hitting up Psycho City and other hotspots when he should've been home studying for his SATs. He's outgrown his rebellious side but never the super-tight graffiti style that helped define that early generation of street art.

He doesn't paint live often, but you can catch Nate1 this Sunday @ fabric8 along with David Choong Lee. Come through to check how fine art meets street on an upper echelon.
